I knew an elder who did not like working with sisters becuase "in case he was faced with a tempting situation"!!!!!
No joke - he was quite open about it.
there was one elder i knew, a bully type, who always worked by himself in field service.
i never saw anyone else work with him.. did you know of elders like this?.

please prove to me i'm not posting in the graveyard shift....... besty and i were talking about password protected and family's exit this last few weeks.
we are full of admiration for the way that they have left with dignity and obviously made many think.
they have not faded, they had a good repuation until the very last moment - mark was an elder - but they stopped and made the decision to be up front and face the elders in a meeting.
First - I have to "totally" agree with slimboyfat on this one.
Sweetpea - you said that PasswordProtected and family left with dignity. Did they??? As I have told PasswordProtected personally; he will have been disgraced, gossiped about and possibly slandered by his exjw friends - no honourable way out of the org exists!
When people DA or DF - what is the price they pay? The loss of family - surely a loss beyond measurement.
We have faded and it has worked out just fine - no hassle from JWs, they no longer have "any" hold on us what so ever and on top of all that we still have contact with ALL of our families. Sure, for some, DA DF may be the only options; but to suggest it as a course of action to be pursued to somehow create a "tipping point" in the org is simply someones dreams!!!
THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
JWs look at people who leave the org as if they are idiots, to be shunned, faithless and dead at Armageddon. Surely we have a greater chance of getting someone out the org if we maintain some level of contact.
As for Mr and Mrs Scotsman - I feel we have got out of the WTBTS with "a little" dignity - but only because we "did not" DA.
If people want to DA, good on them and I wish them all the best. But we have managed to escape by not DAing - and I am proud of that.
We have all got out of the org - lets just get on with our lives.
hello everyone.. its been a while since i posted here - i do pop in now and then to catch up on the latest scandal / news.. i was wondering if the latest annual report is out yet and if not, when is it out?
must be soon surely!!!.
i am hoping to see a global demise of the wtbts - this is perhaps unlikely.
Thanks guys
Blondie - well spotted. so it will not be in the Feb 2009 WT.
I will just need to be patient.
It will probably be the Jan 2009 KM insert - though the yearbook should be out before then.
I predict a 15% drop in active publishers and 20,000 memorial partakers.......... - ah; we can dream!

help those who stray from the flock.
If the org attempt to effectively "disassociate" those who no longer attend - it would have a huge impact on alot of active members.
Would they be required to "shun" those who no longer attend meetings????
Can you feel the agape love????
Will be interesting to see what happens with this.

if evolution truly happened, how did that one apersona that evolved from monkeys learn to speak and write?
First this subject is clearly more important to some than to others - for me, I have discussed this subject a million times with all sorts of people,
So nothing new would come out of yet another long discussion.
inrainbows - """ Oh please. Don't discredit yourself with a strawman argument.
I have never made ANY claim to being original. So trying to make it look otherwise in a weak attempt to weaken my argument that does yourself disservice."""
What the HELL are you going on about man???????? You pointed the finger at those who believe creation and criticised the fact that it may have came from "dead" people.
All I said was "you have done the same". Its true - Grow some humility man!!!
inrainbows - """ I think it is your inability to show that Creation IS as viable as modern science that is what annoys you; you'd dearly love creation to be true."""
Dont suggest to know what annoys me - I will make my own mind up on that!
inrainbows - """ Where is your condemnation of HIS utmost arrogance based on ignorant and erroneous faith? """
I do not want to condemn anybody!!!! All I pointed out was the attitude you were displaying - the I am right and you are wrong! Sounds likes JW speak!!!
You are sometimes right and sometimes wrong - just like me and everyone else.
Lets be happy in life and believe want we want to believe.

Caedes said - """ Which particular creation myths would you like to see taught in the science classroom """.
Which "type" of the evolution theory do you believe in?
You and you fellow evolutionists have a problem - you try to give this united front when in reality there are an increasing number of Evolution types.
I was willing to admit that certain aspects of Evolution "may" be correct - trying to be balanced man - its the scottish way!
But no such attitude is reciprocated by our Evolution believing friends.
Hey, if you want to believe Evolution, fine by me, I aint got a problem with that.
But I will be staying over here in the "life came from life" camp.

""You are worshipping an idol based upon dead people's ideas of god wrapped in pigskin printed on squashed dead trees. ""
You believe an idea from dead people!!!!!! Did you wake up one day on your own with the conclusions you have? No!!!!
I admit, it is best to live and let live and not to be to dogmatic about belief etc. The aspect of this that annoys me is that Evolution is taught as if a Fact to millions of people around the globe - I am not saying that all points of evolution are wrong but I do think people should be taught both creation / evolution equally.
"" Embrace science; it is a friend, not an enemy. And it no more opposes faith than guns oppose life. What it does do is lead you from ignorant erroneous faith to something that is pure and free.""
Science is wonderful - MOST of the time. But to suggest that anyone that has Belief in a God has an "ignorant erroneous faith" is of the utmost arrogance on your part!

I stand and applaud your post.
I agree with your points entirely.
We will all know someday that God exists.
as jws we were no doubt staunch creationists.
but how do you feel now??
do you still opt for creation or do you now feel evolution offers the right answer.
Life comes from life - it always has.
Now if you can show me life that came from something lifeless - ah then I will sign up to Evolution.
We can get into all the little details, evidence for this and that etc etc
But bottom line - for evolution to be true, life at the very start "must" have come from something without life.
Now, I am off to eat a banana!
